Porcelain bowl Andrew Matheson was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1949 and studied at Aberdeen's Gray's School of Art where he specialised in Ceramics. Since then he has exhibited his stoneware and porcelain with the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, The Birmingham Art Circle and with various other artists and organisations throughout the Midlands and Scotland. Andrew has won several awards during his career and was elected to the Royal Birmingham Society of Arts in 1988.
Andrew works mainly in Stoneware and Porcelain Reduction fired to 1280° C using a 12 cubic foot kiln. The glazes used are results of years of research into enhancing the tried and tested recipes used by mainstream potters. Andrew Matheson's kiln
